Berjaya Overhauls Brand in Huge Expansion Plan

Berjaya Hotels & Resorts announces growth and expansion plans to quadruple its’ presence through a vast metamorphosis. The evolution more accurately reflects the breadth and caliber of services and amenities that soon to be offered to its leisure and individual business travel guests. The group also reveals a new development structure,

new name and logo, new website, expansion, renovation and sweeping design and operational changes, in efforts to achieve its’ objective. This new expansion underscores the group’s goal to open up to 20 new hotels and resorts in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Maldives and Malaysia over the next six to seven years. The group is also looking for management contracts in Asia-Pacific.

Berjaya Hotels & Resorts currently owns and manages 11 properties. Additionally, three properties are operated by third parties; and this expansion will bring the group‘s total presence in the regions to reinforce the brand and targeted market with great potential for growth. These upgrades and renovations are bringing the Berjaya vision to life by delivering public spaces and guest accommodation that are integrated, contemporary, and comfortable.

Berjaya Hotels & Resorts being the principle brand, would now carry 3 core brands - Berjaya Hotel, Berjaya Resort and Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills. Newly refreshed look reflecting a revitalised company and new logos that includes our new names for all the hotels and resorts have been introduced to create a point of distinctive corporate identity with a brand message of ‘Have you made your reservations?’.

Berjaya Redang Resort - Malaysia

The Berjaya Redang Resort has completed the final phase of renovation programme to guests’ rooms and suites. New spanking and exclusive 44 units of Garden Suites are housed in double-story wooden chalets in traditional Malaysian architecture design with breath-taking view and sound of the ocean right outside, appealing to leisure travellers alike. It is also fully furnished with tasteful and stylish décor and amenities.

Dining outlets such as Palms Restaurant, Beach Restaurant and Ocean Terrace have been upgraded to measure up to travellers’ expectations and sustain a leading-edge. The renovation programme includes changing all interior décor of restaurants, contemporary furniture and the open concept of oceanview. Berjaya Langkawi Resort - Malaysia

The resort is focus on introducing and expanding the Berjaya brand deliver unique features and generous space for comfort. Berjaya Hotels & Resorts is bound to spend RM30 million to refurbish the rooms at Berjaya Langkawi Resort. It will also spend RM25 million in the second and third quarter of 2010 to improve the public area at the resort.
The spacious Superior and Deluxe room category offer contemporary interior, new colours, lighting and rich furnishing, giving it a warm and elegant look. It promises a total comfortable and extraordinary stay, as it nested in the lush 500-million-year-old rainforest which delights the guests and will further position itself among the leading resorts.

Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia

The Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is providing new choices and better conveniences for business travellers. The 110 suites on the new exclusive Corporate Club floors have access to Corporate Lounge, 7th Avenue which offering panoramic views of the Kuala Lumpur skyline. The suites come equipped with Wi-Fi internet access; as well as personalised amenities and full butler service.

Berjaya Air

Berjaya Air has signed a US$74 million contract with Avions De Transport Regional (ATR) to purchase four new ATR 72-500 aircrafts. The new aircrafts will replace Berjaya Air’s existing fleet of 48-seater Dash-7 aircrafts in the coming years. One of the new ATR-72 aircraft has taken off in early September 2009, flying to Redang Island. Its’ current route is from Kuala Lumpur - Redang Island - Kuala Lumpur. It is also expected to expand its’ route to Tioman Island and Seletar, Singapore.

Future Growth and Expansion
