Berjaya Hotels & Resorts announces growth
and expansion plans to quadruple its’ presence through a vast metamorphosis. The evolution more
accurately reflects the breadth and caliber of services and amenities that soon
to be offered to its leisure and individual business travel guests. The group also
reveals a new development structure,
new name and logo, new website, expansion, renovation and sweeping
design and operational changes, in efforts to achieve its’
objective. This new expansion underscores the group’s goal to open up to 20 new hotels and resorts in Japan, South
Korea, Vietnam, Maldives and Malaysia over the next
six to seven years. The group is also looking for management contracts in Asia-Pacific.

The Berjaya Redang Resort has completed the final phase of renovation programme to guests’ rooms and

Berjaya Air has signed a US$74
million contract with
Avions De Transport Regional (ATR) to purchase four new ATR 72-500 aircrafts. The new aircrafts will replace Berjaya Air’s existing fleet of 48-seater
in the coming years. One of the new ATR-72 aircraft has taken off in early September 2009, flying to Redang Island. Its’ current route is from Kuala Lumpur -
Island - Kuala Lumpur. It is also expected to expand its’ route to Tioman Island and Seletar, Singapore.
Future Growth and Expansion
